Monaco is looking excellent from the beginning of the season. They have suffered just 3 defeats out of 23 games and in the last six games they have four wins and two draws. But the fact is that they have scored 20 goals in the six games. This weekend they smashed FC Lorient with 3:0, with such a dominant performance and just to remind you they were visitors. Radamel Falcao is back in shape, he scored five goals in seven matches and if there are no injuries, he will be the old Tiger. Also, Thomas Lemar and Bernardo Silva are ferociously efficient this year. These two wingers are probably the best side players in Europe right now because their influence on the pitch is enormous and this is why Monaco is on top of the group E. It would be very rude not to mention some other players from Monaco, Fabinho, Benjamin Mendy, Carillo, Germain, are also in excellent form this year.
AC Monaco is playing very offensively this year and very attractive. Many fans are delighted with the style of play that the French team is showing. In this game, their objective is not to lose because with one point they are qualified for the next stage. But they will not defend themselves because they have already beat Tottenham once and they will try to do it again. There is no need to rush and that is something that the home team will use due to the opponents must win situation in this game. In the past couple of the games, we saw how Monaco reacted to the opponent’s pressure. Usually, with a goal or two as a response. individually Monaco players are much better than Tottenham, but also as a team they are functioning fantastic. For a long time, the French team wasn’t playing well as they are now.
Possible lineups: Subasic, Mendy, Glik, Jemerson, Sidibe, Fabinho, Bakayoko, Silva, Lemar, Falcao. Germain.
Bench: Morgan De Sanctis, N’Doram, Raggi, Boschilia, Traoré, Guido Carrillo
Manager: Leonardo Jardim
Tottenham team news
Dele Alli since Nov 5, 2016
Hugo Lloris since Nov 14, 2016
After seven games Tottenham finally won the match. They were losing against West Ham but in the end, they came back and won, This is a huge boost for the Spurs because they were in a bad position, and they still are, but now their morale is a bit higher. Hary Keane is back and everything is easier with him up front. But still, there is something missing in their game. Midfield is pretty bad, with no creation and with the lack of proper solutions during the game. Mauricio Pochettino is struggling with the tactics and he’s trying to find formula from the beginning of the season when this team was playing extremely well. Christian Eriksen and Moussa Dembele are underachieving. These players are supposed to be the ones who are making the difference in the middle of the pitch, instead, they are making a difference but in a negative way. Tottenham has to win this game and they will have to go out and play brave from the first minute. If they lose they will probably be denied of proceeding to the next stage. They depend upon the game in Moscow. If Leverkusen beats CSKA, they have to win in France in order to preserve some chances for the next round. Harry Kane will probably be the crucial player for the London team but he will need some help from his teammates especially from the midfielders.
The two guys that we have mentioned earlier, need to play much better than until now. They will have to control the pace and the tempo of the match because if Monaco takes the ball then Tottenham will be less dangerous. Danny Rose and Des Walker will be facing a huge challenge because they will have to watch out on Bernardo Silva and Thomas Lemar. X-Factor could be Son. Korean forward had an excellent start, and in the last couple of games, he didn’t play very well. You can see that when he stopped playing, the whole Tottenham stop winning.
Vorm; Walker, Vertonghen, Dier, Rose; Wanyama, Dembele: Eriksen, Kane, Son; Janssen
Bench:Carter-Vickers, Trippier, Wimmer, Winks, Onomah,
Manager: Mauricio Pochettino
Interesting game, we have, Monaco is in great form, but Tottenham needs to play open. We do not expect a lot of goals in this match, because Monaco will probably try to impose slower tempo, and to be honest they are a better team at the moment
