The fans at the Emirates expect another fine performance from their Gunners, as Arsenal is set to host the Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad on Wednesday night in the 3rd round of Group A.
Arsenal is in a great form, winning 6 consecutive matches and 9 in their last 10 games, despite the fact that Coach Arsene Wenger will not be able to count on some of the Gunners key players. Arsenal came up with a very important 1:1 away draw against the French Champion Paris Saint Germain in the first round, while securing an easy 3 points against the Swiss side Basel with 2:0 at home. Over the weekend, the Gunners secured yet another important win as they took down Swansea at the Emirates with a final score of 3:2. It seems like the young and talented Arsenal squad is finally finding the right form as they are showcasing a lovely performance on the pitch. However, their Coach Arsene Wenger has expressed his concerns over the injury reports of some players. Specifically, Wenger talked about the Welshman Aaron Ramsey, as he is still ruled out of the competition.
“I must say I am disappointed that Aaron is still not available because he has worked very hard. He has had a few little setbacks that forces us to be cautious with him. It’s a bit of a vicious circle.”
While Ramsey remains on the side lines, few other players are certain to miss the match on Wednesday night. Olivier Giroud is doubtfull and he still might dress up and see some action if needed (ankle injury), Chuba Akpom (back injury), Per Mertesacker (knee injury), Danny Welbeck (knee injury) are all ruled out for the Round 3 match against Ludogorets.
Although many consider Arsenal as a clear favorite in this match, be aware that Ludogorets has proved to be a tough opponent to many bigger European teams, bringing home a point against Basel, while taking the lead against PSG. Taking in consideration the fact that Ludogorets has lost only two games out of their last seventeen matches, indicates that Arsenal will not have an easy task. They will most certainly not be just a pushover and will travel to London in hope to score at least on goal. Coach Georgi Dermendzhiev hopes that Jonathan Cafu will find away around the tough Gunners defense and find the back of the net.
After such a magnificent start of the season, the Gunners are an absolute favorite to win this match. More importantly look for many goals in this match, as we expect at least 3 goals. The Gunners will come out with a certain level of respect towards the opponent, but once they get their juices flowing, there should be no stopping. We might not see as much action in the first half, but expect the 2nd half to be extremely exciting.
