Paris Saint German is starting to play like we have been used to seeing them play in the past several seasons, as the recorder a comfortable 3:0 win against the Swiss Champion Basel FC on Wednesday night.

It was a very important win for the French side as they are one step closer of reaching the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions league having collected 7 points from the first 3 legs in group A!!!

However, it was the visiting team that kicked-off the match creating several scoring chances in the first 15 minutes. Michael Lang (Basel) fired a powerful header in the 6th minute and almost snatched a lead for his team, hitting the crossbar!!!

Renato Steffen and Seydou Doumbia also came close to scoring at the 12th minute mark but fortunately for the hosts, the score remained untouched.

As the time was progressing, Basel was falling behind slowly and the PSG players were taking over the initiative on the pitch, creating several chances through Angel Di Maria and Adrien Rabiot.

Angel Di Maria put his team upfront, scoring from close range after finding himself in a one-on-one situation with the visiting goalkeeper in the 40th minute of the match. It was his first goal of the season. Despite a great first half performance, the visitors were unable to score and the result was 1:0 at the halfway mark for the PSG!!!

Edinson Cavani was the first one to be in a scoring position in the 47th minute, as he created some space for himself around the penalty area, but his header bounced of the right post and went behind the line.

PSG continued to push forward as Basel was not causing them any serious threats, allowing them to take the control of the field, which was used in the 62nd minute of the match when Lucas (PSG) connected with the rebound and fired the ball low inside the right post, making it 2:0 for the hosts!!!

With couple of more chances on the both side, the fans were watching a very interesting and entertaining encounter at the Parc des Princes !!!

Both teams seemed to be open for attacks and moving well on the pitch, but it was not until the stoppage time before the game got really interesting once again as the home team made its final push despite being up by 2 goals.

First Jese came close to scoring in the 91st minute as he connected with a pass inside the box, but his shot was directed straight towards the visiting goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik, who had no troubles of saving his goal.

Just a minute later the referee Deniz Aytekin awarded the hosts with a penalty!!! It was Michael Lang (Basel) who brought down one of the PSG players in the box, and Aytekin declared a penalty for PSG!!!

After having troubles of scoring during the regular time, Edinson Cavani stepped forward and finally scored a goal, making it the FINAL score of 3:0!!!

All in all, it was a spectacular and wonderful experience for the fans as both teams have given it their all, creating scoring chances on both sides of the pitch. PSG is now leveled with Arsenal on top of the group A with 7 points each, while Basel and Ludogorets are at the bottom with 1 point each.
